Laborer/Pipe Layer

Iron Horse, a leading excavation company in the Mid-Michigan area, is seeking experienced Laborers and Pipe Layers to work on road construction, site work, and utility projects. As a Laborer/Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for assisting with the installation of underground utilities, including sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main construction.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation of underground utilities, including excavation, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe work environment
• Communicate effectively with project managers and other team members to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working on road construction, site work, and/or utility projects
• Experience with sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main construction preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 50 pounds
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
